Roles 🙋🏻

Hello, everyone!

We are here to announce the Roles feature. They are predefined categories that set permissions and accesses to the users in our platform, allowing account owners to manage their collaborators accesses.

How does it work?

For now, the feature allows account owners to limit their collaborators' accesses to:

  • the settings menu;

  • chats;

Full chat access

Only assigned conversations

  • some pages.

Default Roles

By default, the application comes with four predefined roles, as shown in the table below:

*When a user can see all chats it means that they can see all chats that are from the team they have access to. So if a user has access to all chats but don't belong to the sales team, they still will not be able to see conversations in Sales.

**The role “Settings Chat Agent” is a role that gives access to the settings menu, but doesn't give access to all chats. However, since this role has access to settings, they can give themselves full chat access. This is why we discourage using this role.

Since they are default to all accounts in our application, they cannot be edited.

Creating a custom role

This feature is available under the Plus plan.

If you would like to create a role with different permissions than the default ones - for example, a user that has only access to the bot page, you can do that by simply clicking on the “Create role” button on the top right of the screen.

Assigning roles

In order to assign roles to your collaborators, simply access the “Teammates & Permissions” menu. It can be done either by clicking on the role badge, or on the menu on the right, in case you would like to see more information of the role before assigning it.
